Mint Pineapple Smoothie

I am the type of person who loves being outside, so when springtime rolls around, I can't help but get outside. This brings me joy and misery. Joy from the outdoors and sunshine, and misery from seasonal allergies! Seasonal allergies sure get me down. Sneezing, itchy eyes, runny nose, and misery.

Mint is a food that helps to relieve some of those seasonal allergies.

Benefits of Mint:

Mint is helpful with soothing and relieving the stomach in cases of indigestion and inflammation. It helps to promote digestion. It has been shown to help relieve seasonal allergies.

Benefits of Pineapple:

Since it is rich in fiber it helps to bulk up the stool, which is helpful with diarrhea and IBS. It's a good source of Vitamin C, which helps to boost the immune system.

Recipe:

1/2 a fresh pineapple

handful of mint leaves, fresh

juice of 1 lemon

1 cup of ice

1 Tbsp agave, if needed

Directions:

Place all the ingredients into the blender, and blend for about 3-5 minutes, until it is smooth. You can drink it this way, which is more like a smoothie, or wait an hour until it is more juice-like.
